The United States of America is known as the melting pot of the world, yet it has a deep rooted history of racism. Currently minorities are a large part of the U.S.'s population, workforce, and identity, yet the history of racism has created a deep divide between these minorities and law enforcement. This divide is the result of miscommunication and stereotypes by both sides, and it is creating too many violent and deadly circumstances in America that must be addressed by increasing community policing efforts and civil conversations in the country's local communities. This must be addressed by President Elect Trump and the 115th Congress in 2017 in order to create a more just society.
