Description

Time occurred: ~0145 hours EDT

I was riding to the supermarket when I rode by a guy on a skateboard. I gave him lots of room so he didn't get spooked by me. He was riding 'normal' (as opposed to 'goofy'), so his back was to me.

About 20 seconds later I heard the sound of his skateboard clacking against the road. I looked back to see him flat on the road. I turned to look in front of me to make sure I wasn't going to ride into anything, then I looked back behind me to confirm what I saw and check for cars coming in the direction I was heading. A car (1990s Pontiac Grand Am? in silver) drove by, and started to slow down (brake lights) and veered toward the curb in front of me.

I turned around to ride back to the skater. He was pulsing (shock?), had a compound fracture (a term I got from one of the other people first to the scene) on his right leg, scratches all over his face, and wasn't making any sounds. One of the other two people/men to the scene was a guy named Victor. I didn't want to disturb the body since I don't know what to do with such severe injuries. Victor was talking to the skater and tapping on his chest. He said he smelled alcohol and the breathing was slowing. While that was happening myself and Victor were on individual calls to 911.

Moments later, a few police cars, fire trucks, and an Abilene arrived. I recounted the above and they whisked the skater away. I'm told the skater's name is 'Louis/Lewis Earnest'. It's unknown whether the Pontiac I saw hit the skater. There was some shattered glass around the skater's neck though.

I'll write a more detailed post later. I just wanted to get these initial details down.

Yes, then I rode to the supermarket and home.
