Vale Moot Court Room.On Tuesday, October 19th, Widener Law hosted a morning debate between the Delaware candidates for United States Senate, Republican Christine O’Donnell and Democrat Chris Coons.A considerable audience of law students, faculty, staff, and members of the general public packed Widener Law’s Ruby R. Vale Moot Courtroom to listen to the two candidates, and WDEL 1150 AM News Radio aired the debate live without interruption.Following a welcome from Widener Law Public Relations Officer Mary Allen in which she affirmed the law school’s commitment to the “Open exchange of ideas,” WDEL Anchor Peter MacArthur – who served as the moderator for the debate – turned to a panel of four journalists for the first question. The journalists on the panel were: Chad Livengood of the News Journal, Allen Loudell of WDEL, Tamela Edwards of ABC Channel 6 Action News in Philadelphia, and Mark Nardone of Delaware Today.
