Description
Day 3: Even the very short drive to the convention center can be entertaining. We were a bit of a clown car. Misty Edwards led worship in the morning before a teaching (“Cultivating a Prophetic Spirit”) by Wes Hall. A general theme throughout the week was getting closer to God and avoiding the distractions (TV, social media, politics, sins) when doing that. No compromises.
There’s a very thorough bookstore (books, CDs, DVDs, clothing) at the event. Plenty activities (ping pong, hacky sack, etc.) were available between sessions. We visited Consentino’s to get some dinner. Along the way, we met a couple of homeless people who asked us to help them in getting some supplies. We ate dinner in the wine aisle because there were no more seats available inside. Apparently, the wine aisle is actually a sanctioned place to sit down and eat. The south-facing exterior of the Marriott in downtown Kansas City is covered in lights. They used these to create words and animation. It allows for some great bokeh.
Amanda Cook and Steffany Gretzinger led worship in the evening. This was followed by a teaching (“Malachi 4: Turning the Hearts of the Fathers to the Children”) from Allen Hood.
We went home and fellowshipped for the rest of the night. Ryan is always full of energy. And he had the Holy Spirit giggles at 1am.
