Description

StudentCam is C-SPAN's annual national video documentary competition that encourages students to think critically about issues that affect our communities and our nation. For the 2018 competition, we asked students to choose a provision of the U.S. Constitution and create a video illustrating why it's important to them. Notes from the filmmakers:
On the topic "The Constitution & You," we chose to focus on the Second Amendment because we believe that this country is in great need of stricter gun laws. While evaluating recent mass shootings, we found that the gun laws we have today lack strict regulation on background checks and the right to own high-powered weapons. We believe that the only way we can truly combat gun violence is if we raise our voices and demand stricter gun laws from the government.
