I see what you're saying Josiah, but I have to disagree a little bit... Your primary argument is that the main problem with Viddler is that the owners aren't uploading video, themselves. However, I can't remember the last time I watched a video uploaded by the owners of youtube or dailymotion. I think a lot of Web 2.0 services (such as 37Signals) go the whole "ego route" and get a lot of fame out of it, but ultimately what makes a product successful is two things: 1. How useful it is, and 2. How many people know about it.

I agree 100%. I've always felt that good sites, not popular, not money makers, but truly good sites are built with great, sometimes not so great original content from the folks behind the scenes. Without owner created content, Viddler is just another video sharing site. Thanks Josiah, I think this was an awesome video.

Apparently the record-to-web feature broke here - video is frozen for the rest of the vid - audio still works though, so please keep watching. :)
